Abstract

This was a summary of findings from a project on state long term care (LTC) program and market characteristics conducted by researchers at the University of California, San Francisco, and the University of North Texas under a subcontract funded by the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development. Descriptive data for 2007 were collected by the project from a survey of state officials in 2007-08 and from secondary data sources. The data collection effort was designed to update data collected on long term care program characteristics in the states conducted in 2002. Primary data were collected by telephone using structured questionnaires that requested specific data from each state.
