Summary

The University of Kansas' Research & Training Center on Independent Living at the University of Kansas is working on a research project that is a grant from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention designed to assess current emergency preparedness and disaster management plans pertaining to assisting people with mobility impairments during emergencies.

As part of this project, the research team is examining first hand reports
of the impact disasters have had on people with mobility limitations across
the country. They have set up a website at http://rtcil.org/survey.htm that
has a link to an on-line survey designed to capture such findings from
people with mobility limitations. Says Jennifer Rowland, a Research Assistant on the project, "The survey takes no more than 10 minutes to complete and would greatly contribute to the research project.
